One Night With a Cowboy All New Excerpt

After being up on Amazon with a lonely grey box where my cover should have been, finally One Night With a Cowboy has a cover image on the pre-order page and NOW I can effectively ‘ho, um, I mean promote the book! Why start now, you ask? The book doesn’t release until February. Yes, I know, but I’ve gleaned some knowledge while worshipping the false god that is Amazon, but, like with all deities, the truth is always shrouded in mystery. Still, here is what I think might possibly be true… Preorder sales for a book are very (VERY) important. It’s the sales accumulated during preorder that can drive a book to the best seller lists, we think, possibly, because even though I’m trying to convince a friend a mine to work for Amazon and spy for me she hasn’t consented to do so yet so we’re all just guessing here. Here is another thing we’re guessing about…it was rumored that books with more Reader Ratings and Reviews, good or bad, get special treatment at Amazon as far as promotion. Things such as inclusion in emails, or the ‘recommended for you’ titles shown when you visit the site. I’ve heard […]

RT Book Reviews says FLANKED is “smart, sassy & intensely sexy”!

If you’re not a romance writer or an avid reader, you may have never heard of RT Book Reviews (formerly known as Romantic Times, not RT). If you think back though, you may remember seeing me posting or heard me talking about “going to RT” which is author-speak for attending the huge (like 2000 people big) Romantic Times Booklovers Convention held each spring and sponsored by the aforementioned RT Book Reviews magazine. Now that you have the background I can get to the good stuff. RT reviewers can be tough, for lack of a better word. To get reviewed by them at all can be tricky. I personally consider a 3 star review from RT a rave and to date, that’s all I’ve ever gotten from them. I’ve seen big name authors get 2 stars, at which point I empathized, cringed and held my breath yesterday when looking for reviews for my September Studs in Spurs eBook release, Flanked, to send to my publisher. These are to be included in the print version coming out next year, which in true publishing fashion we are working on now. So back to the story…yesterday as I’m Googling, I saw there was a review from […]

May News

What’s happening? Well, a lot actually, which is why I’ve been a bit MIA. WRITING, writing and more writing and I am in the final stretch, so close to typing THE END I can almost taste it on my first Kensington novel, One Night with a Cowboy (Oklahoma Nights, Book 1).  It’s a great feeling and I’m high on dopamine or whatever else happens to a body when a huge goal is finally achieved. Of course, I expect to crash pretty badly when faced with that blank page and that 0 word count for Book #2. If you see me wallowing during that period, please give me a little kick in the ass. Thanks. PROMO, of course. Would you expect any less from me? Anyway, I have embraced the evil that is the FACEBOOK PAGE, forced upon all (and I use this term loosely) public figures. Since FB won’t allow a personal profile page to have more than 5,000 friends and I am rapidly approaching that number, I have decided to actually do something with my official author FB page I set up years ago and I have added a special EXCLUSIVE FAN ZONE tab. There, people who have LIKED my […]
